چکیده

In this paper, we consider a state estimation problem over a bandwidth limited network. A sensor network consisting of N sensors is used to observe the states of M plants, but only p ≤ N sensors can transmit their measurements to a centralized estimator at each time. Therefore a suitable scheme that schedules the proper sensors to access the network at each time so that the total estimation error is minimized is required. We propose four different sensor scheduling schemes. The static and stochastic schemes assume no feedback from the estimator to the scheduler, while the two dynamic schemes, Maximum Error First (MEF) and Maximum Deduction First (MDF) assume such feedback is available. We compare the four schemes via some examples and show MEF and MDF schemes are better than the static and stochastic schemes, which demonstrates that feedback can play an important role in this remote state estimation problem. We also show that MDF is better than MEF as MDF considers the total estimation error while MEF considers the individual estimation error.

Closed-Loop Compensation of the Quadrature Error in MEMS Vibratory Gyroscopes

In this paper, a simple but effective method for compensation of the quadrature error in MEMS vibratory gyroscope is provided. The proposed method does not require any change in the sensor structure, or additional circuit in the feedback path. The mathematical relations of the proposed feedback readout system were analyzed and the proposed solution assures good rejection capabilities. Based on ...

Mitigating Node Capture Attack in Random Key Distribution Schemes through Key Deletion

Random Key Distribution (RKD) schemes have been widely accepted to enable low-cost secure communications in Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs). However, efficiency of secure link establishment comes with the risk of compromised communications between benign nodes by adversaries who physically capture sensor nodes. The challenge is to enhance resilience of WSN against node capture, while maintainin...

Quasi-decentralized Scheduled Output Feedback Control of Process Systems Using Wireless Sensor Networks

This paper presents a quasi-decentralized output feedback control structure for multi-unit plants with limited state measurements and distributed control systems that exchange information over a resource-constrained wireless sensor network (WSN). The networked control structure brings together model-based feedback control, state estimation and sensor scheduling to enforce closed-loop stability ...

Event-based Scheduling of Multi-loop Stochastic Systems over Shared Communication Channels*

Abstract—This paper introduces a novel dynamic eventbased scheduling mechanism for networked control systems (NCSs) composed of multiple linear heterogeneous stochastic plants whose feedback loops are closed over a shared constrained communication channel. Each subsystem competes for the channel access in order to update its own controller with true local state values. Employing an emulation-ba...

Quasi Random Deployment Strategy for Reliable Communication Backbones in Wireless Sensor Networks

Topology construction and topology maintenance are significant sub-problems of topology control. Spanning tree based algorithms for topology control are basically transmission range based type construction algorithms. The construction of an effective backbone, however, is indirectly related to the placement of nodes. Also, the dependence of network reliability on the communication path undertak...
